Product Details

A very fine 19th century cold painted bronze butterfly correspondence clip.

The butterfly boasts exceptional detail throughout, the wings of which are a letter clip which opens by pressing down a piece of foliage to the left; the butterfly then opens to reveal the finely formed butterfly proper with a green body and painted wings. The whole sits above bronze foliage and rocks with an oval base. 

There is some fading to the paint in areas, otherwise the piece remains in a very good condition with a great colour and fully functioning mechanism. 

A stunning piece.
