The Acoustic Energy AE1 40th Anniversary is a special edition standmount loudspeaker created to celebrate one of the most iconic compact monitors in British hi-fi. Inspired by the original AE1 from 1987, this anniversary model keeps the spirit of a small speaker with remarkable punch, speed and clarity, while updating the design with modern drivers, cabinet construction and crossover engineering.

Its two-way design combines a 29 mm anodised aluminium dome tweeter with a 125 mm spun hard-anodised aluminium mid/bass driver. This all-metal driver arrangement helps the AE1 40th Anniversary deliver crisp detail, strong dynamics and a lively, engaging presentation from a compact cabinet.

The cabinet uses Acoustic Energy’s RSC™ constrained-layer HDF and bitumen construction, with internal bracing and twin front reflex ports. This helps reduce unwanted resonance while giving the speaker impressive bass weight and scale for its size, making it suitable for serious stereo systems where space is limited.

Finished in High Gloss Walnut or High Gloss Black with magnetic cloth grilles, the AE1 40th Anniversary combines classic monitor heritage with a more luxurious modern finish.
