Product Details
A 19th century oil on canvas depicting a man in 17th century dress holding a small statuette, after the original attributed to Jacob Van Oost (1603-1671) displayed at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England.
The work has craquelure, some small areas of paint loss and three pin prick perforations; one to the centre of each eye and one to the tip of the nose. The work is housed in a period gilt frame which shows signs of wear, most notably to the left side edge.
An attractive and intriguing composition which draws the eye in a room.
