'History Of The Conquest Of Mexico, With A Preliminary View Of The Ancient Mexican Civilization, And The Life Of Hernando Cortes' by William H. Prescott, in two volumes. Published by George Routledge and Sons Ltd, London, c.1896.

Both volumes are fully bound in full black leather prize binding with blind and gilt stamped decoration to the front board and edges. The spine boasts a gilt stamped title panel, ornate gilt stamped decoration and five raised bands and spine. There is shelf wear to the extremities and an area of damage to the top of the back board leather of Volume I. 

All page edges gilt. Prize binding bookplate dated 1896 to the front pastedown of Volume I. Both volumes remain in a very good condition internally; clean, bright and free from inscription.
