The Continental Derby takes a classic Derby and sets it on a chunkier, more characterful sole — a shoe with a bit more presence than a slim dress shoe, without losing the smart shape. It comes in both a smooth vegan leather and a soft vegan nubuck, in tan and black, so you can take it as dressed-up or as easygoing as you like.
The standout is underfoot: a rubber outsole with a hand-painted wood-effect midsole stripe, so each pair has a stacked, almost cobbler-made look — the kind of detail you'd expect on a welted shoe, on a chunky commando base. The vegan leather uppers are our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials), while the nubuck option is Italian vegan nubuck (100% PU) — one of the finest vegan suedes you can get, Ecolabel certified to Oeko-Tex® 100 and REACH standards. The lacing runs through metal eyelets in 100% zamak (a durable zinc alloy), tipped to match, on a clean open-laced Derby front.
They sit tall on that stacked sole — a 3.5cm heel and 2cm toe — while staying grippy and durable underfoot. Inside, Portuguese vegan suede (100% PU) lines the shoe, soft and breathable against the foot, and cushioned layered insoles pair soft memory foam over a recycled PU base (20% recycled PU) for comfort through a full day.
