JDS Labs redesigned the acclaimed EL Amp to maximize your desktop audio experience. EL Amp II packs the performance you expect from JDS Labs into a precision machined aluminium chassis, with higher maximum power, and button activated preamp RCA outputs. Enjoy the comfortable knob and seamless transitions between your powered speakers and headphones.
Amplification circuitry and PCB layout of the JDS Labs EL Amp II are inspired by Atom Amp, with greater PCB surface area dedicated to amplifier thermal relief and greater output power. Higher noise tolerance NJR opamps are utilized in the voltage gain stage, along with thin-film resistors for tighter channel matching. In short, this means less variation from one amp to another.
El Amp II accepts up to 2.2VRMS at high gain, well-matched to EL DAC II’s 2.0VRMS output. Low gain is set to unity for sensitive headphones. Volume is controlled by an Alps 9mm potentiometer with optimal 15A taper.

Advanced Outputs
EL Amp II provides preamp RCA outputs, so that you can control volume of your powered speakers. The Mode button allows you to toggle between headphones and powered speakers without the need to disconnect cables.
Ultra-High Power
With +/-15VDC rails and continuous max power of 1.3W, EL Amp II drives all headphones on the market to extraordinary levels, from balanced armatures to planar magnetics. EL Amp II is JDS Labs' flagship amplifier, achieving top performance from its 4-layer, star grounded layout.
Dual Gain
Low gain of 1.0x is well suited to driving efficient IEMs, while High gain easily powers demanding full size sets.
Relay Muting
Designed for desktop listening, EL Amp II's full relay muting eliminates pops and thumps during startup through both its headphone and preamp outputs.
