Product Details
A very attractive set of six substantial Lancashire ash and elm dining chairs, c.1780 – 1840.
Each chair has two rows of five turned spindles supported between two cross rails with an upper shaped stay rail and back uprights terminating in a dome shaped finial. Each chair has a later rush seat sat upon four turned legs terminating in pad feet. The front legs boast a quarter round top and are joined by a turned stretcher, the front and back legs being joined by box-form stretchers.
The chairs are in an excellent condition throughout with a wonderful colour. With no two chairs exactly alike, this is a dining set full of character.
