A superb leather cordite carrier with lid and leather handle. Constructed from a core of cork, bound in leather and lined in canvas. Stamped on the lid with the makers initials B.H.&G. Ltd (Barrow, Hepburn, and Gale) and the date, 1941. Also marked with the broad arrow symbol, meaning that it belonged to the British Board of Ordnance.
Dimensions: 73.75 cm/24¼ inches (height) x 25.75 cm/6 inches (diameter).
