The two-strap footbed sandal is a summer staple for good reason, and this is our take on it — the easy, go-anywhere pair you'll live in from the first warm day.
The uppers are cut from our Italian bio-based vegan leather (62–66% plant-origin materials) in a warm tan that only looks better as it wears, with twin adjustable buckles in an old gold finish. Two straps means two points of adjustment, so you can dial the fit exactly — snug for walking, looser for lazing — and the antique-brass buckles give them a bit of heritage character against the leather.
The comfort is all in the footbed. A deep Portuguese cork bed sits under a soft vegan suede (100% PU) top layer, with a contoured arch and a cupped heel that hold your foot in place — and because it's cork, it softens and moulds to the shape of your foot the more you wear it, so they end up feeling like they were made for you. The suede lining means you can wear them barefoot all day without a rub in sight.
We recently updated the rubber outsoles to include recycled content — look closely and you'll spot the flecks of colour embedded in them, now made with 10% recycled rubber. They're durable and grippy underfoot, as at home on hot pavement and café floors as they are on a sandy boardwalk or a garden lawn.
These are the sandals for pottering, for holidays, for the walk to get an iced coffee and the walk back — thrown on without a thought and comfortable from the first wear to the last day of summer.
