Buying a virtual gift means we can not only guarantee gifts to all our brave young patients at Christmas and Easter but we can also continue to bring magic to Alder Hey every single day of the year!

  • £5 the gift of music! Just £5 brings music to the bedside of our young patients through fun, child-led sessions to help develop confidence, self-esteem and provide distraction from pain and anxiety.

  • £10 the joy of play! £10 contributes to our Play Service, facilitating therapeutic play across all patient areas and the equipment and materials needed to make hospital life brighter. Physical play supports well-being and compliments physiotherapy as well as helping to reduce infection. Crafts and creative play can help children to express their feelings and provide distraction.

  • £25 makes mealtimes fun! £25 supports our innovative ward chef programme, delivering fun menus packed with nutritional meals to help our young patients stay healthy and recover in hospital. Meals and snacks are tailored to the needs and tastes of each child and can support young patients living with cancer to take on the energy they need to get stronger.

  • £50 Building a new Surgical Neonatal Unit £50 helps us to reach our £3m target for our brand new unit.  Currently, babies who need specialist surgery currently must be transferred from Liverpool Women’s Hospital to Alder Hey to get the specialist surgical care they need and then transferred back to continue their care. Specialist neonatal staff from Liverpool Women’s Hospital will work alongside Alder Hey at the new NICU ensuring that poorly babies are transferred between the two hospitals as little as possible. We are fundraising to provide ‘over and above’ enhancements and equipment for both the clinical space and family areas in the new unit, elevating it from a facility that provides families with a safe and secure environment for them and their newborns, to a truly world-class facility that wraps around families with the most vulnerable babies in the region.
