When you need the protection a pair of wellies provides from water, mud, slush, snow and everything else nature can throw at you — but want the comfort and versatility of a walking boot — our WVSport Insulated Country Boots are the answer.

This insulated version is built for harsh weather: PrimaLoft® insulation made with 90% recycled content keeps your feet warm in freezing conditions, wrapped in a soft vegan fur lining (100% polyester) inside the boot. The uppers are Lyliane® 3DMX vegan nubuck by Lorenzi, Italy, with Cordura® fabric panels (100% PU / 100% nylon) — abrasion and scuff-resistant, with a lab-tested water-resistant construction that's highly water-resistant and PFC/PFA free. They'll keep your feet dry in most situations, though they're not for running water, deep puddles or deep snow for extended periods.

The fit is slightly wider, with a rounded toe box and a little more height — room to move your toes and to allow for a thick walking sock. They sit snugly but comfortably on your lower calf, thanks to the soft, stretchy knitted back panel that doesn't dig in or rub, and a full top-to-bottom zip on the inside of each boot means they slip on and off easily.

The sole is direct-injected — moulded and fused straight onto the upper in one process, so the two won't part easily — a dual-density PU sole with a rubber tread layer that's lightweight with a nice flex, nothing like the weight of a wellie. The open tread is designed with grip, traction, braking and stability areas, and when it's super muddy it won't clog up — easy to hose or scrape down at the end of a long walk. Underfoot, a memory foam insole over a traditional cork bed moulds to your foot over time. They're more like wearing a pair of sturdy trainers you can walk long distances in.

WVSport models are designed and produced in the foothills of the Dolomites, Italy. We create each model using CAD design technology that simulates the different phases of the walking experience, and development samples are lab tested for days for abrasion resistance, durability and water resistance — new models can take months, sometimes years, to develop. The factory features one of the largest photovoltaic plants in Italy, meaning 70% of the power used to produce WVSport footwear is solar. As well as working under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law, the factory has a Charter of Human Responsibilities that commits it to respecting its employees' rights, work and dignity — and we work with a traceability system that lets us trace every step of production, so we know what we use and where it came from.
